Pour into 9 x 13 pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes until toothpick comes out clean in center of brownies. Mix mint icing ingredients in the order given and spread on cooled brownies. Freeze just until stiff. Finish with your favorite chocolate frosting. These are also a favorite of Mamoo's from her college days at BYU. They cost 50 cents and would see me through the long days of walking all over the campus to get to class on time.

Grandma's Chipless Chippers

2 cups butter or shortening or half butter and half shortening
4 cups sugar

4 eggs

8 cups flour

1 & 1/2 teaspoons cloves

3 teaspoons cinnamon

1 teaspoon allspice

4 cups applesauce or pumpkin

2 teaspoons salt

2 teaspoons soda

4 teaspoons baking powder

4 cups chocolate chips

Mix butter and sugar until well blended. Drop by spoonful onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 minutes until set in center of cookies. Cool on rack. These will freeze well. Tom Adams and Evan Bybee made fun of these cookies when Grandma Bybee made them because she would only put in 1 cup of chocolate chips for the 8 cups of flour. Consequently, when eating them, you were lucky if you ever tasted a chocolate chip. So they named them Chipless Chippers.

Mix butter and eggs

Alta's Sugar Cookies (soft)

2 cups sugar
1 cup shortening

1/2 cup milk

1/2 teaspoon salt

3 eggs

4-5 cups flour

4 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon vanilla ( or lemon extract)

Beat sugar and shortening. You can make ahead and cover with foil and put in fridge for up to 24 hours. You can also use corn tortillas but they need to be heated up before putting chicken mixture in them. You can make these spicier by using hotter green chilies or mild chilies depending on taste.

Whole Wheat Muffins

1 cup white flour
1 cup whole wheat flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

4 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 cup chopped nuts

1 cup milk

2 eggs

1/3 cup cooking oil

Mix dry ingredients together in one bowl. Look for pictures in your local Williams and Sonoma store along with an ebleskiver pan.

Raspberry Bars

3/4 cup butter
1 cup packed brown sugar

1 & 1/2 cup flour

1 & 1/2 cup rolled oats

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 10 oz. jar jam - raspberry, strawberry, peach, or blueberry. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over top. Bake 30 minutes at 400 degrees or until hot and bubbly. Let set 10 minutes before serving. Can be made in advance. Serves 6-8.

*Note from the Johnson's: Be sure that the top layer of noodles is lightly pressed into the sauce so that it is moist and kind of covered otherwise the noodles on top become a bit crispy. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Dice pepperoni, chop olives, snip parsley into small pieces. In Large bowl combine pepperoni, olives, parsley, mozzarella cheese, flour and pressed garlic. Mix well.

2. Place bread dough, seam sides up on counter top. Using a knife slice each dough loaf lengthwise end to end, cutting halfway through to center of loaf; spread open flat. Lightly sprinkle with additional flour evenly over dough and roll the dough crosswise to a 4-inch width, creating a well down the center of each loaf.

3. Spoon half of the pepperoni mixture down center of each loaf. Gather up edges over filling, pinching firmly to seal. Place loaves, seam sides down, in an "X" pattern on a cookie sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Crisscross ends of dough to form a large figure "8", keeping ends of dough 1 inch from the edge of the pan.

4. Separate egg and discard the yolk or set it aside for another use. Beat the egg white and seasoning mix together. Lightly brush over dough using a pastry brush. Using a serrated bread knife, cut a 3 inch slit in each of the top sections of the twist to reveal the filling.

5. Grate Parmesan cheese over loaf. Bake 30-32 minutes or until deep golden brown. Allow to cool for a few minutes and cut into 16 slices. Serve with warm pizza sauce. Can be used as an appetizer or a main dish. Yields: 16 appetizers, or 5 servings. Stir in yeast. Add eggs and flour to make a sponge. Let sit 10 min. Add vinegar and the rest of the flour a cup at a time to make a stiff dough. Knead 10 minutes and put in greased bowl. Cover and let rise until double in size. Punch down and let rise again. Make into rolls about the size of golf balls and place in a buttered 9x13 casserole dish and cover lightly with plastic or wax paper. Rolls should be fairly close in the pan. Add in eggs and beat. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and add alternately with milk. Stir in lemon rind and nuts. Pour into 5 or 6 small loaf pans that are well greased and floured. or line pans with parchment paper. Bake 360 degrees for 45 minutes until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. While bread is baking, mix together the juice of 3 lemons with 1 & 1/2 cup sugar and spoon it over warm bread. I usually take the bread out of the pans and put it on aluminum foil that has been formed like a dish around the bread. Then when you pour the lemon juice mix over the top it soaks into the bottom of the bread as well. You can store it in the aluminum foil in the freezer or in a cool dark room.

Brownies

Ingredients:
2 sticks of butter
2 cups of sugar
3 eggs
1 tablespoon of vanilla
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 and 3/4 cup of flour
1/2 cup of cocoa

Directions:
Mix butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla together. They are easy and delicious and some can be made in advance so that you can actually watch the game. enjoy!

6-7 Beef boneless chuck ribs (i get mine from Costco)
2 large bottles of favorite bar-b-q sauce (i use famous Dave's bold and spicy but sweet baby ray's is good too)
garlic and onion powder to taste

Pour bar-b-q sauce into a large crock pot and add garlic and onion powder it should be strong. tenderize the short ribs before you put them in the crock pot. Bar-b-q sauce should COVER ribs. (you can also tenderize then sear them before you put them in the crock pot). Cook for 4-5 hours or until the meat is falling apart!

Frosting for Brownies

2 Sticks of Butter
1 Crapload of Powdered Sugar
Some Cocoa

Mix well, lay on at LEAST 2 inches thick,
