Mom's Fresh Cranberry Sauce

1 cup water
1 cup sugar
3 cups fresh or frozen cranberries

Bring water and sugar to a boil .  Add cranberries and return to a boil.  Reduce heat and boil gently for 10 minutes stirring occasionally. Pour into a bowl, cover and cool completely at room temperature.  Refrigerate until serving time.  I use this for my cranberry jello salad.
