Vinegar Taffy

2 cups sugar
1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar
pinch of salt
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup vinegar

Combine all ingredients and bring to boil. Boil to a hardball stage ( 265-270 degrees)
Cool slightly on buttered cookie pan. Pick up small amounts with well buttered hands and pull until white and stiff. Form into sticks.
