Tom's Famous Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup butter softened
2 eggs
3 cups of flour (approximately)
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups chocolate chips (approximately)

Cream sugars and butter til light and fluffy.  Add vanilla and then eggs one at time, mixing well after each.  Stir in dry ingredients and finally add chocolate chips.  Drop by teaspoonful onto a cookie sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes at 375 degrees or 180 celsius.

  1. If you substitute baking soda for baking powder the cookies are flatter and more chewy. Baking powder makes them more cake-like.
