- 2 eggs (beaten)
- 2 1/2 tablespoons of sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
- 2 cups of milk
- 1 cup of flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
- 12-15 slices of Texas toast, cut diagonally
- Oil for pan (canola, vegetable or peanut)
On medium heat, put a 1/4 inch of oil in bottom of the pan. Works best with a stainless steel pan. Combine all other ingredients in a pie pan and whisk it together. Dip both sides of bread in egg mixture and place in pan. Flip when golden brown. After done, dry on paper towel. Can be placed in the oven to keep warm.
